9 months!
Mckenna turned 9 months old on the 15th. I think it's crazy how slow 9 months goes by when you're pregnant, but how fast the first 9 months with a baby goes! I guess it's true that time flies when you're having fun (and don't have back pain, hip pain, feel huge, etc!) Here is her 9 month picture as well as a flashback to my pregnancy. Pregnant moms- I got this idea off Pinterest and I thought it was a cute way to document my bump. For those of you who do a picture every week- I am absolutely amazed with you! I dreaded these pictures once a month (as well as my husband) I can't imagine doing 40 of them! If you look close at the 6 month picture you can see my eyes are kind of red. I was crying after looking through the first few pictures...(my husband usually took about 20-30 because I had a hard time finding one I really liked) During the 6 month pictures I actually asked him if I looked fat! Haha he smiled and said, "do you realize what you just asked? We both had a good laugh!

Mckenna's little World
Eating food! She has not turned down one thing yet! She's a great eater and not picky (yet). My husband is happy about that because he does all the cooking...he always teases me about trying new foods. I'm not too picky, but don't like most seafood and not a huge fan of most vegetables. 😝
I take a lot of pictures of a Mckenna that are very posed so I like taking candids like this. She loves hanging out in her diaper and I thought this captured her just crawling and climbing around.
This is how she falls asleep. Since she was little I just hold her like this very still and she drifts off to sleep. I didn't want to have to walk around or bob her all the time so I thought I'd try this from day one... I like to take credit, but I'm pretty sure it's mostly her- she's just one of those easy babies.
One of my recent favorites. We took her to the Minnesota zoo for the first time and this was her on the Minnesota Trail. She rarely smiled that day, but was very content. Mark and I notice she gets this way when she's learning or seeing something for the first time. She just stares a lot and gets really quiet. Love her cheeks in this picture too!
Mckenna in her cute hat (from Old Navy) and her coat from grandma and grandpa.
This is our video monitor. I thought this was too cute. She used to lay on her back with her hands behind her head, but now she is usually on her tummy (like her momma).
Mckenna's first Christmas present! We let her open it early because she had a fever a couple days ago (and because she's 9 months old and doesn't understand time yet.)
She just started giving hugs a few weeks ago. :)
This picture is mostly for me...so I can remember how little her feet and toes were. They seem big compared to when she was a newborn, but still so little!!

Mckenna's first Christmas Season
Here are some pictures from this month of Mckenna. It has been so cold outside, but can't complain when I'm inside all day playing and snuggling with her :)
Sleepy little girl! Her cheeks get so rosy! I love that she falls asleep on me to go to sleep.
Our Christmas card...she did not like the hat at all! Which was kind of surprising because she wears headbands a lot. I couldn't get a smile, but thought her face was just perfect for this picture.
Kenna meets Santa! This is the Santa at Mall of America. They do such a great job getting the kids to feel comfortable and not scared of Santa. We went with my mom and my sister and her two kids. My 3 year old niece went in crying and came out cheering and happy. Mckenna didn't smile like her usual self, but she didn't cry either so I was fine with that!
Monthly Pictures
I have been taking monthly pictures of Mckenna. I use the photo toaster app for the effects and phonto app for writing the words on the pictures. It's getting harder to get her to sit still now that she's moving all over the place!
My first blog!
Hi! I am a new mom of a nine month old little girl named Mckenna. I am also a nanny for 6 month old twins and a 4 year old and so I thought it would be fun to share activities I do with them as well. I am a "retired" teacher and I try to make every day fun, engaging, and educational whether at work or home with just my daughter.
Here are some things I plan on posting on this blog:
- Pictures and updates of my daughter Mckenna
- Ideas, games, crafts, and activities for other moms
- Thoughts on raising a child in this crazy and unpredictable world we live in
I'm a mom just trying to keep God, Family, and Work in that order each and every day! I named my blog Kenna's mom because like all moms out there I'm just so proud to be a mom! It's been my dream "job" since I was very young. I hope you enjoy my blog!
